Your MediaLight Bias Light Includes A Comprehensive 5-Year Warranty
Every component is covered. (Need to file a claim? Click here).
Our LX1 series comes with a 2-year warranty, while our 12- and 24-volt MediaLight products—including strips, bulbs, and desk lamps—are covered by a 3-year warranty, reflecting the increased demands placed on the LED chips in these higher-voltage applications.
Why Choose MediaLight?
MediaLight products are designed to deliver industry-leading performance and long-term value. While they may have a higher initial cost than standard LED lights, they feature superior, precision-engineered LEDs and durable components. Our modular design ensures that individual parts can be replaced or repaired if needed, minimizing waste and maximizing longevity.
With cheaper systems, a single failure often requires replacing the entire unit. By contrast, MediaLight products are built to perform better, last longer, and provide a cost-effective solution over time.
What Does the Warranty Cover?
If something happens to your MediaLight, we will work with you to identify the cause and either send the necessary replacement part or replace it free of charge.
Examples of covered warranty claims:
- "The dog chewed my remote control."
- "I accidentally cut the power end of the light strip."
- "The basement flooded and took my TV with it."
- "The lights stopped working, and I don't know why."
- "My studio was robbed" (covered if a police report is provided).
- "I botched my installation."
- Water damage.
- Acts of Cat.
Important: Retain All Damaged Parts
To process a warranty claim, you must retain the part for which you are seeking coverage, regardless of its condition. Damaged components should not be discarded, as they may be required for evaluation. If the part has already been disposed of, we will unfortunately be unable to process your claim. We may request a photo, video, or return of the damaged component to assess and fulfill the warranty.
While we strive to cover as much as possible, there are limits to what our warranty includes:
-
Improper Use:
Improper use shall be covered once as a courtesy, but repeated occurrences may not qualify for coverage. Examples include:- Compromising the Product: Applying substances like paint or adhesives that interfere with functionality.
- Exceeding Voltage Limits: Using a power supply that exceeds the voltage specified for the strip.
- Unsupported Modifications: Altering the strip or components outside of guidelines, such as soldering or extreme customization.
- Excessive Moisture: Using the product outdoors or in wet environments without proper weatherproofing.
-
Incompatible Accessories: Damage caused by third-party power supplies, dimmers, or accessories not recommended for use with MediaLight products.
-
Intentional Destruction or Disposal:
If a part of your product is damaged, your warranty covers the damaged part only. It does not cover components that have been discarded or intentionally destroyed. -
TV Behavior Issues:
Issues like "lights turning on and off with the TV" are dependent on the TV's USB port and not the bias lights. Please review our FAQ for more details about available remote control options. -
Infrared Crosstalk and Interference:
Some remote controls, such as those for Vizio devices, may interfere with other devices. This is not a defect and is not covered. We are happy to review alternative controller options with you. -
Shipping Costs:
- Domestic: After two years from the purchase date, you are responsible for postage on replacement parts.
-
International: After 90 days from receipt of the product, international customers must cover shipping costs for replacement parts.
-
Refusal to Troubleshoot:
If a MediaLight representative requests troubleshooting steps to diagnose the issue and no cooperation is provided within the warranty period, we cannot send replacement parts until the requested information is received. Claims are typically honored based on the date they are submitted, but delays caused by refusal to troubleshoot cannot extend coverage beyond the 5-year warranty term. Once the necessary information is provided, we will proceed with your claim as long as the warranty period has not expired.
Shipping Policy for Replacements
- First 90 Days: For DOA units or accidental damage (e.g., "I broke my strip" or "my cat attacked it"), we cover the cost of shipping replacement parts internationally during the first 90 days from the date of purchase.
- After 90 Days: Customers are responsible for covering the shipping costs for replacements sent internationally.
We aim to make the replacement process as fair and seamless as possible.
Important Notes
- Repair or replacement shall be the purchaser’s sole remedy under this warranty.
- Proof of purchase is required, and this warranty applies only to original purchasers.
- If a product is discontinued, it will be replaced with a comparable product of equal value and function.
